Kia is hoping to revive flagging large family car sales with a revised Optima. The Ford Mondeo rival has been given subtle styling revisions, including a new front facia and headlight design, revised bumpers and LED tail-lamps.

Updated dash trim and a new steering wheel aim to lift the cabin, with Kia’s latest infotainment system and a new drive mode selector added, too. Two new engines have been drafted in, with a cleaner 134bhp 1.6-litre diesel replacing the old 1.7-litre, and a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 178bhp.
